In becoming an artist, I have learned to see. I believe that the beauty of an object or a moment in time is found in it's simplicity. Seeing things in their simplicity requires focus, concentration and quiet moments of reflection. These quiet moments of reflection are really just appreciating all that He created.
With a harmonious palette before me and a loaded brush in my hand, I work to convey the simple beauty I see. I love studying the lines in a subject, evaluating the colors and values and how they relate to each other. I love seeing the effect of light on an object and the variations in the shadow cast. I love the challenge of capturing an object, a moment or a memory, and sharing it with the viewer.
